Mayo Clinic Care Network
World-class medical expertise, close to home.
In May 2026, Beijing Amcare Hospital and Arion Cancer Center officially joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network — bringing Mayo Clinic's specialists, knowledge and standards directly to our patients, right here in Beijing.
What is the Mayo Clinic Care Network?
The Mayo Clinic Care Network is a global collaboration network created by Mayo Clinic in 2011. It brings together carefully selected, independent health care organizations around one shared goal: giving patients the care they need, close to home.
Membership is by selection, not franchise. Candidate institutions undergo Mayo Clinic's comprehensive evaluation of clinical quality, patient safety, governance, multidisciplinary care and strategic alignment. Every member remains independently owned and operated — the network is a clinical, educational and research collaboration, not a merger, acquisition or brand licensing program.
• Founded in 2011 by Mayo Clinic, ranked No. 1 among U.S. hospitals by U.S. News & World Report
• Today: 50+ member organizations, representing about 80 hospitals and nearly 20,000 physicians across the U.S., Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East
• Network motto: "Your patients have you. You have Mayo Clinic."
Amcare's Membership
In May 2026, Mayo Clinic and Amcare Healthcare Group jointly announced that Beijing Amcare Hospital and Arion Cancer Center had officially joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network — the first member institutions in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region.
Membership followed a rigorous process: after months of documentation review, a Mayo Clinic team completed a two-day on-site evaluation at both hospitals in November 2025, covering quality and safety systems, multidisciplinary collaboration, talent development, patient experience and digital infrastructure. In December 2025, Amcare passed the final review by Mayo Clinic's executive committee in a single round.
"We are honored to welcome Beijing Amcare Hospital and Arion Cancer Center to the Mayo Clinic Care Network. Their mission to provide compassionate care to every patient closely aligns with our values." — Jorge Pascual, M.D., Medical Director of Strategic Relationships, Mayo Clinic
"With the ability to consult Mayo Clinic's research, diagnostic and treatment resources, Beijing Amcare Hospital and Arion Cancer Center providers can treat more of their patients close to home." — Hu Lan, M.D., Founder and CEO, Amcare Healthcare Group
What This Means for Our Patients
• A Mayo Clinic-powered second opinion, without leaving China. For complex or uncertain diagnoses, your Amcare physicians can bring Mayo Clinic specialists' perspective into your case.
• Your attending physician stays in charge. Mayo Clinic's input supports — never replaces — the doctor who knows you and your condition.
• No language barrier. Our eHealth coordinators prepare, translate and deliver every case and every Mayo Clinic specialist's opinion.
• Care continues seamlessly at Amcare. Your attending physician interprets the medical opinion from Mayo Clinic with you and carries your treatment forward — no interrupted care, no duplicated tests.
• Time and cost saved. Avoid unnecessary overseas travel for an expert opinion.
Our Mayo Clinic Collaboration Services
When a diagnosis is unclear, or a treatment decision is difficult, your Amcare provider can submit your medical records to Mayo Clinic specialists through the network's official consultation channel. Mayo Clinic experts review the case and return a formal written opinion, typically within 3–5 working days.
When to consider an eConsult:
• The diagnosis is uncertain and needs expert confirmation
• Different doctors have recommended different treatment plans
• Your condition is complex and needs multi-specialty input
• Current treatment is not working as hoped
• You are considering treatment abroad and want an expert evaluation first
• You have a rare or hard-to-treat disease
• Talk with your attending physician about requesting a Mayo Clinic second opinion.
• Your attending physician evaluates whether your case is suitable for eConsult.
• You confirm, sign the informed consent form and settle the service fee.
• Your eHealth coordinator compiles and translates your medical records into English and submits them through the official Mayo Clinic Care Network channel.
• Mayo Clinic specialists review your case and return a written opinion, typically within 3–5 working days.
• Your attending physician explains the Mayo Clinic opinion to you in person and, together with you, plans the next steps of care.
Each eBoard brings together Mayo Clinic specialists from multiple disciplines to review a complex cancer case in real time. Amcare patients can benefit from eBoards in the following oncology subspecialties:
• Breast Oncology
• Cutaneous Oncology
• Genitourinary Oncology
• Gynecologic Oncology
• Lung Oncology
• Lymphoma
• Pancreatic Oncology
Since 2011, the Mayo Clinic Care Network has held more than 1,700 eBoards.
Behind the scenes, Amcare physicians use AskMayoExpert, Mayo Clinic's point-of-care knowledge platform covering hundreds of medical conditions with standardized care pathways — the same evidence-based system used across the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
Through our collaboration, you can access Mayo Clinic's patient education library — more than 2,500 resources to help you understand what to expect and how to manage your recovery at home, including the common questions that come up after treatment or surgery.
